Description

This is a design guide for anyone who wants to make a Catwick and has a permission for it!
For other information; here's an Age Chart and an Information Chart for more lore-y infos!
Catwick || Age Chart

In case you can't read the writing:

Basics

Catwicks have the basic forms of a cat. They can go around standing on two feet, although some young Catwicks still prefer to walk on all fours, like all cats. Their fur and organs, except their skeletons, are completely replaced by wax that can be more or less drippy depending on their age. A Catwick’s wax takes the color after the scented candle used for their design, and usually consists of a darker color with progressively lighter colors in a gradient at each body extremity (ears, paws, tail, sometimes muzzle). A Catwick’s flames also come in the same palette as their body, although they are usually of a lighter color. Catwicks’ eyes, unlike normal cat eyes, always come with slit pupils. They rarely have a white sclera, as it is usually a darker or lighter color than the color of their eyes. Catwicks are sexless so drawing them with sex based attributes is forbidden. They do, however, have preferred pronouns they can use. All Catwicks own a lamp, which they use to carry around souls, and a bag to stash buttons. They can’t wear more than two accessories/garments.

Rarity

A Catwick’s rarity depends on their scented candle type, and is thus divided:
Common: Common Catwicks have the smells of what is usually associated with natural perfumes: flower, plant and fruit smelling catwicks fall under this category.
Uncommon: Catwicks that smell of food/a mixture of natural flavours and smells often fall under this category (i.e: pumpkin spice, blueberry cupcake, etc)
Rare: Catwicks that have unnatural smells, often related to non natural things (i.e. campfire) or seasons (i.e. autumn breeze) fall under this category.
Legendary: Catwicks are considered legendary when they have the ability to keep ghost bees. They are, however, mosty uncommon and rare.

Body Shapes

A Catwick has the basic shapes of a domestic or wild cat, although no other types of felines (lions, lynxes etc.) are not allowed. Also, including typically human body parts is not allowed: Catwicks have no sex, so please don’t include anything that might hint to sexual parts in their designs. Other than that... Don’t forget your character design! Catwicks are based on cats, but you can still play on shapes to make them look more adorable (with round shapes, for example), wiser (with rectangles) etc. You can also play around making them look more like a certain cat breed, or having them lack certain body parts they might have lost in their life (scratched ears, a missing paw, etc.), or play around with their size if they died when they were kittens. There is really no other limitation to what you can do with your Catwick’s design.

Clothing

Catwicks are, as stated, all in all cats. Because of this, they won’t really tolerate to be heavily clothed. A Catwick can own and wear up to two accessories or garment max, aside from the bag where they store buttons and the lamp they carry about. They can change these accessories throughout their lives, of course, but they can never be more than two. Old Catwicks, with their bones out, tend not to wear any garment as their energy is running out and having additional weight can make them stressed.

Soul Lamps

All Catwicks own a lamp they use to carry souls to the other side. This lamp most likely belonged to the witch who had them as familiars, was passed on by old Catwicks, or was gathered later by newer generations. The designs of these lamps can vary in shape and form, but should always be made so a Catwick can easily carry it around. Catwicks can decorate their lamps with things reconnecting to their special interests if they wish. The external design is free, but inside the lamp, souls always look like lava lamps, and emit a very faint light. The lamps can be used as normal lamps and be lit with fire/gas/electricity etc.

Button bags

All Catwicks carry around a bag that contains the buttons they get from the souls they help get to the other side, as explained in the species info. The bags don’t really have a limited space as they need to contain MANY buttons before they can be spent for ghostbees wax. However, they will have the size and space their appearance shows when storing other objects. The bag’s design is completely free, although it should be small enough for a Catwick to carry around with ease together with their lamp. It can be a handbag, a backpack or whatever else can be used to carry objects and falls under the definition of “bag”- just don’t make them too complicated unless your Catwick’s special talent is sewing! Bags can be decorated as well!.

catwicks are a closed species by undercoverghost. Please refrain from making your own unless you-ve bought or were given a MYO slot!

Would a citronella candle fall under the rare or common category ? Or would that type of candle be completely unusable?
